Is it really not the most eating Flavor Enhancer can make a stupid fast? Flavor Enhancer or MSG is the ingredient we commonly mix in food to make it taste more savory and delicious. However, often we hear that consuming too much Flavor Enhancer or monosodium glutamate (MSG) can make us get attacked by disease.

So, actually it is true that MSG is harmful and not good for our health? Here are some facts.

1. MSG can also be produced in the body
MSG or sodium glutamate serves as a food flavour enhancer to make the food taste more savory, simply MSG is a salt derived from glutamate produced through the fermentation process. But the glutamate in fact can also be found naturally in our daily diet such as cheese, meat, fish and vegetables e.g. tomatoes. In fact, our own body also produces glutamate.

2. MSG is considered bad for health since the 1960s
The debate on the adverse effects of MSG began since the emergence of the Chinese Restaurant Syndrome since the 1960s. Many people feel dizziness, nausea, cold sweat and redness after consuming Chinese cuisine using MSG.

The background is a study of the consumption of MSG. However, various studies were unsuccessful, stating that the symptoms posed by consumption of Chinese cuisine were actually caused by MSG. There are also other studies that state that MSG can stimulate our nerves excessively so that it will eventually damage the nervous system. But in fact the research was much opposed because in the study the amount of MSG was considered too excessive, so it does not reflect the amount of the consumption of MSG people in the day in the age.

Those are some facts related to MSG guys. So how? I think that adding Flavor Enhancer to the food or the dish would not be a problem as long as it is not excessive.
